Get Off The Computer!!!!!

Spring is here!!! -or at least the hay-fever is. So what are you doing in-front of the computer?!?! Let me guess, you're using social networks (Facebook, Twitter, etc). OK now try the next craze (actually is an old craze) - physical social networks!! That's right, actually meeting up with people. While your at it why not try one of the following (or at least organise it now for when the season starts) :
  • Subfootball - Social soccer with mixed teams played at several locations, on smaller fields. A great team sport form people of all skill and fitness levels.
  • Touch - The best thing about this game is that it can be played pretty much anywhere in New Zealand.
  • Walking - try it in a group. You never know who you will meet and it's much safer that walking by yourself.
  • Swimming - At a gym, one of the pools around the country or even the beach.
  • or even sitting outside with a book
If you would like to get more ideas check out SPARC . SPARC run the Push Play initiative and have great tips for getting outside this summer!! Get out there and do something - organise it now for the Summer!!! Even better organise it for your work team and get to know each other socially.

Cheers,
The Serendipity IT Team -
playing Subfootball this Year at Auckland Domain!!

Walking in a group - its a fantastic idea. Nice if there would be like a waiting area where one can gather and leave at aspecified time to walk through a specified route or am I just wishful thingking?

Thanks for the comment. The City council is usually a good place to start. Assuming you are from Christchurch NZ you could try http://www.ccc.govt.nz/cityleisure/gettingaround/walking/index.aspx - otherwise just Google Walking Groups. Hope that helps.
